Is Creativity Dead?

We Canadians are very familiar with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). Not all of us love it, but I do passionately. The only thing more binding in our culture, it seems to me, is hockey. Well my beloved CBC appears to be being ripped off by Stella Artois, the beer company. Stella Artois seems to me to be very close to copyright infringement over their design for their Recyclage advertising campaign. And then there’s an iTunes design that also seems inspired by whoever produced the CBC logo. Imitation remains the most sincere form of flattery but it can also be the first step toward a courtroom.

Both stories suggest a lack of respect for, and understanding of, the creative process and its traditions.
