A Humorous Rant on Language (with Great Typography)

All I know about this, is that the poem is by Taylor Mali (www.taylormali.com). His homepage is as brilliant as this video on Vimeo. When you click on the various index sections on his homepage, you see an anagram of the listing title you have chosen that is apt and funny.
This video combines pithy and [...]

3D Without Glasses!

My first experience with 3D on the web. Who knew you could see in 3D without glasses! This link is to 3D images taken in Japan by T. Enami in the early 1900s. Thanks to Weburbanist!

The Omo People

Hans Silvester spent six years photographing the Omo people of Ethiopia. The introduction to the film on YouTube will tell you the rest. Amongst my many loves are Freddy Mercury and the song Bohemian Rhapsody. As with the story of van Gogh, the tragic life of an artistic genius is magnified by their early loss [...]

Another Medium, Another Mona

Two friends sent me these images on the same day. I will NEVER understand the public’s fascination with this image. It is dull and boring compared to an infinite number of other works by an infinite list of artists.

Ron van der Ende’s Bas Reliefs

Ron van der Ende makes incredible bas relief sculptures out of found wood pieces. The piece pictured above is called “breaker Boys” and on the back is a photo of child labourers working in an anthacite coal breaker in Pennsylvania in 1911. Link. Thanks to Neatorama.
